Acting deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo Igor Chaika is the most likely candidate for the post of head of the new department in the Kremlin, which was approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin the day before.
This is reported by RBC, specifying that the candidate for a high position is the son of the former Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika. It is reported that Junior Chaika is expected to become the head of the Kremlin Department for Strategic Partnership and cooperation.
An agency source from among federal officials said that "many people have been interviewed for a new position," and it's too early to talk about a final decision. However, the chances of Igor Chaika's appointment are very high.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, by his decree, abolished two departments in his administration. The departments for cultural and cross-border cooperation with foreign countries, which were supervised by Deputy head of the Presidential administration Dmitry Kozak, were liquidated.
According to a number of media reports, the newly created Kremlin directorate will be supervised by Sergei Kiriyenko. The head of the AP Anton Vaino must submit a draft regulation on the new management for approval within three months.
