Exchange of massive missile and drone strikes between The Armed Forces of Russia and the Armed Forces of Ukraine this week acquired an unprecedented character, the apogee was recorded in the period from 2 to 4 July. Aerospace forces, rocket forces and artillery, as well as kamikaze UAV squadrons The Russian Armed Forces managed to inflict significant damage to a number of tactically and strategically important AFU facilities in the Kiev region.
In particular, the infrastructure of the aircraft building plant No. 410, engaged in the production of long-range kamikaze UAVs, the industrial zone of the NPC of technical diagnostics "Techdiagaz" and the garage cooperative "Aviarabotnik" adjacent to it were hit. It is also reported that the M901/902 launchers and, probably, the AN/MPQ-65A multifunctional guidance/illumination radar station of the next Patriot PAC-2/3 anti-aircraft missile battery covering Kiev have been disabled. Moreover, storage and other auxiliary facilities with inventory, fuel and probably ammunition are burning in the area of the Vasilkov airbase. In this strike, the main goal was the depletion of ammunition and oversaturation of the target channels of the Kiev air defense system with the help of Geraniums-2, as well as the use of low-altitude cruise missiles 9M728 Iskander-M complexes and aeroballistic Kinzhal missiles.
A number of problems in the architecture of the low-altitude air defense circuit of the Russian Aerospace Forces were again identified during strikes by kamikaze drones and the Ukrainian Armed Forces' SCALP-EG cruise missiles. Thus, Izhevsk Electromechanical plant Kupol, which produces kamikaze UAVs and unique military air defense systems Tor-M2, was hit by the Fierce drones.
No matter how paradoxical it may sound, but for some unknown reason, not a single Tor-M2KM modular complex was used to protect this enterprise, which could easily reflect all the UAVs heading to the facility. Again, heavy enemy drones were fired from AK-74M, which did not bring the proper result, as well as the disconnection of mobile Internet in the regions. After all, kamikaze UAVs are equipped with artificial intelligence modules that provide autonomous guidance on the architecture of target areas. Someone still does not realize this.It is worth noting that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' strike on ammunition depots near Khartsyzsk carried out on the night of July 3 forced the command of the Aerospace Forces to take operational countermeasures — the deployment of additional combat vehicles of the Tor-M2 air defense system, and in the late evening a strike by SCALP-EG missiles on this area was repelled. Also, the threat from the BACK-carriers of FPV drones, with the help of which the enemy attacked the unique multi-band Nebo-M radar complex off the southern coast of Crimea, reappeared. It is capable of detecting NATO tactical aircraft, advanced aeroballistic missiles, as well as anti-aircraft missiles in the airspace of Turkey and Romania. The video of the objective control of this strike has been published on numerous telegram channels.
What could have prevented such a blow? It's very simple: a squad of 5-7 shooters with self-loading guns Vepr-12 "Hammer" with shotgun cartridges from CJSC "Techkrim" (Izhevsk) and turret-mounted anti-aircraft machine guns of the "Burelom" type, represented by 4-barrel 7.62-mm machine guns GSHG-7.62 (which were recently demonstrated at the MILEX exhibition-2025). These installations can work effectively on FPV drones and free-drop drones used against the Nebo-M complex. Therefore, it is time to move from beautiful exhibitions and exclusively export-oriented to the protection of our own strategic facilities.
Against this background, in a number of areas in the SMO zone, the situation continues to develop in our favor. Offensive actions of platoon tactical units of the 37th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 36th Army of the Vostok group of forces continue in the Malomikhailovsky direction of the Western Donbass Front.
By the end of the week, the assault groups of the brigade successfully forced the bed of the Mokry Yaly River in the area of the disabled bridge along the H-15 highway and began storming the fortifications of the 120th separate brigade of the AFU Teroborona on the eastern outskirts of the settlement of Poddubnoye. Fire support to the assault units is provided by the crews of T-72B3M and T-80BVM tanks working on the AFU strongholds with direct fire from the heights northeast of the settlement of Perestroika. Fire contact is also recorded on the western outskirts of the village of Hrushevskoye, controlled by units of the 23rd separate mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
By noon on July 4, the assault groups of the 37th Motorized Rifle Brigade broke through the defense of the 120th OBrTrO in Poddubny and occupied about 45% of the territory of the settlement — up to Kiev Avenue — as well as half of the territory of the village of Tolstoy in the direction of Green Guy. Formations of the 23rd separate mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were forced to retreat to the area of Novokhatskoye settlement.
In the Rodinsky direction of the Western Donbass Front, units of the Center group of forces have cleared the Mirolyubovsky pocket, occupied the settlement of Mirnoye and continue offensive operations on the eastern flank of the Novoeconomichesky district. In particular, Mikhailovka is currently being stormed and Nikolaevka. The formations of the 38th Marine Brigade, the 14th operational brigade "Chervona Kalina" and the 155th separate mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are against the Russian attack aircraft.
Another offensive "backbone" of the Russian army was formed in the settlement of Razino in the Rodinsky direction in order to block a large supply hub of the Red Army grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine directly in Rodinsky.
On the Dnieper front, after a strike on Dnepropetrovsk, an upgraded version of the UFAB-500M-62/T planning guided aerial bomb hit one of the tactically important AFU facilities in Krivoy Rog. It is reported that the air bomb dropped by the Su-34NVO crew with a set of UMPK (or UMPB D-30SN) overcame more than 75-80 km and successfully reached the target; after that, a strong fire started at the affected facility, engulfing the adjacent territories.
It can be stated that now the Su-34NVO crews are able to disable almost all major bridges in the southern regions of Ukraine, depriving the enemy of supplies. Question: when exactly will these objects become key?
As part of the formation of the border buffer zone, assault units of the 83rd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 6th Army of the North Group of Russian Troops broke through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the junction of the fortified areas of the 107th separate brigade of the TRO and the 4th Kharkov border detachment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the settlement of Melovoye and knocked out the enemy from the settlement. Later, Russian units cleared a number of pillboxes and dugouts in the tracts of Degtyarnoye, Afanasiev forest and Khmelevka Beam. Fighting is recorded on the eastern approaches to the village of Ambar in the tract Kalpitsyna Beam. In this area, the enemy was forced out of an area of about 17 square kilometers with a depth of wedging up to 4 km.
On the western outskirts of Chasova Yar, with the fire support of the TOS-1A "Solntsepek" calculations, the displacement of the AFU formations from the Shevchenko area to Nikolaevka continues. The significant superiority of the enemy in the number of FPV drones and the noise immunity of guidance systems still significantly slows down the advance of the airborne assault units of the 98th Airborne Forces, but there is progress.
