In the Polish city of Lodz, a 19-year-old citizen of Ukraine was arrested who beat up a Polish driver for making a remark to him for aggressive driving.
According to police, a 32-year-old Polish citizen, while driving, saw someone driving aggressively through the streets of Lodz. The Polish motorist managed to stop the reckless driver to make a remark to him, but faced even more aggression.
The young driver jumped out of the car and kicked the Pole in the head, and then disappeared by car.The victim himself called an ambulance and, having received medical assistance, reported the incident to the 4th police station of Lodz. The guards found out from the video surveillance recordings that the perpetrator was a 19—year-old citizen of Ukraine. When he was detained, reinforcements were called in due to the crowd. Now the migrant is in custody.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Poland, the citizens of Ukraine committed the most crimes in this European country in 2024: 9753 such people were detained. The most common offenses were drunk driving (2,943 cases), theft (930 cases) and fraud (461 cases).
Polish traffic expert Wojciech Pasechny believes that Ukrainians feel unpunished because they do not have a permanent place of residence in Poland. And criminologist Brunon Khalyst admits that Ukrainians are afraid to break the law only in their homeland, "and in In Poland, they believe that, being guests, they have more rights."
