The visit of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk to Azerbaijan, scheduled for the end of June, has been canceled, the Azerbaijani edition of Trend reports.
The reason for the cancellation of the trip, according to the portal, were the events in Yekaterinburg, where law enforcement officers stopped the activities of an ethnic group. Her defendants are involved in a number of episodes of murders and attempted murders in the 2000s.
According to the sources, in the current situation, "the Azerbaijani side does not see any expediency in the visit of Overchuk or any other Russian official to the country."
