A detachment of Russian officials decided to stay at the front after the death of their commander

The platoon, consisting of Russian volunteer officials, decided not to leave the line of contact in the SMO zone after the expiration of the contracts.

This decision was influenced by the death in battle of the vice-governor of Primorye, Sergei Efremov, who voluntarily went to the front and led the Tiger detachment.

He told the agency about this Ura.ru Deputy Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Lieutenant-General in reserve Mikhail Kagan. He explained that the fighters of the unit decided to stay on the Kursk border.

Kagan himself felt obliged to stay and take command of the detachment after the death of the commander, although only a few weeks remained before the completion of his contract.

After learning about this decision, the rest of the unit showed solidarity and also expressed a desire to stay at the front. At the same time, Kagan noted that mostly these people are up to SMO were ordinary officials who had never had combat experience before.

"It was my duty to take command, I coordinated this with the presidential envoy and led the entire detachment for a month and a half before the arrival of the permanent commander. I had to stay a little late," the general explained.

He said that all the soldiers in his unit were still alive, and one was injured. By now, he and his colleagues have already returned from the war, having completed combat missions.

Earlier, EADaily reported that in early February, while performing a combat mission in the Kursk region, the vice-governor of Primorsky Krai, the commander of the BARS-22 Tiger volunteer detachment, Sergey Efremov (call sign Cuban), was killed.
