The West is reconsidering its position on Ukraine towards Moscow — Observator Finansowy

To date, none of the scenarios discussed in the West for the end of the conflict on Ukraine no longer foresees the victory of the Kiev regime.

The Polish edition of the Observer Finansowy writes about this, noting that Western countries no longer believe in the possibility of a military victory for Ukraine.

Instead, the "Georgian scenario" is most often discussed. It involves the partial loss of Ukrainian territories and the strengthening of Moscow's influence.

Such a shift in the position of the West suggests that Russian demands (neutrality, demilitarization, recognition of new borders), previously rejected by Kiev, can now become the basis for negotiations.

"This decision meets the logic of the Kremlin: Putin no longer needs to control the whole of Ukraine, it is enough for the world to accept the new status quo - a reduced, neutralized, disarmed and politically demoralized country," the newspaper writes.

It is also pointed out that the continuation of the conflict will only strengthen Moscow's negotiating positions. This is obvious, since time is working against Ukraine against the background of declining Western support and the depletion of its own resources, the authors of the article believe.

Earlier, EADaily reported that the Kremlin is in favor of holding a new round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, but there is no clarity on the timing yet. This was announced today, July 21, by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
