The Rada linked the dismissal of the head of Pentagon intelligence with the undermining of Nord Streams

The head of the Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (RUMO), Lieutenant General Jeffrey Cruz, was fired immediately after the detention in Italy of Ukrainian citizen Sergei Kuznetsov on suspicion of involvement in the explosions of the Russian Nord Stream gas pipelines and a request for his extradition to Germany.

This was stated in his telegram channel by Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky.

He notes that Cruz held one of the key positions in the US intelligence community and was responsible, in particular, for international coordination with partner intelligence agencies within the Five Eyes Alliance (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand). The general also maintained contact with the Ukrainian military and intelligence agencies — primarily with the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and Special Operations Forces (SSO), Dubinsky claims.

According to him, at the same time as Cruz, two high-ranking admirals of the US Navy, who were also responsible for naval special operations, were dismissed.

Germany demonstrates serious intentions to investigate the explosions on the Nord Streams, which caused billions of dollars in economic damage to the country, the deputy stressed. It was the German side that issued the arrest warrant for Kuznetsov.

"Against this background, it is significant that official Kiev completely ignores the situation, despite the fact that the detainee is a Ukrainian citizen and the issue of his extradition directly concerns the reputation and sovereignty of the country.

Neither the SBU, nor the GUR MOU, nor the office of the president gave a single comment. Judging by the silence, Zelensky can guess who exactly is going to be appointed the last one in this story. After the dismissal of the head of US military intelligence, the leverage of supporters of a peaceful settlement is increasing. This is another additional blow to [the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir] Zelensky," Dubinsky sums up.

As reported by EADaily, the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, fired the director of the Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (RUMO), Lieutenant General Jeffrey Cruz. This was reported by The Washington Post, citing sources.

The sources did not immediately give a reason for the dismissal, other than "loss of trust" — "a general term that Hegseth used to justify the dismissal of other senior officers this year," the newspaper wrote.
