The explosion due to the detonation of ammunition occurred during transportation by train near the village of Kalinovka, Kiev region of Ukraine, the Ukrainian edition of the Mirror of the Week reports, citing its own unnamed sources.
"Kyiv region: the explosion occurred near the village of Kalinovka due to the detonation of ammunition during transportation by rail," the telegram channel of the publication said.
At the time of the explosion, passenger train No. 730, en route from Kharkov to Polish Przemysl, was nearby. As a result of the emergency, the contact network was damaged, which is why the train stopped.
According to the newspaper, hundreds of train passengers were evacuated from the scene to a nearby forest belt. There is no information about the dead or about the fire of the cars as a result of the incident yet.
Chairman of the Kyiv Regional State Administration Nikolai Kalashnik confirmed the fact of the explosion, adding that rescuers were working at the scene of the incident.
Earlier, the media reported that an explosion occurred at an oil depot near the town of Vasilkov.
