Russian President Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky are not ready for negotiations yet, but soon the United States will do something that will influence their decisions. This was stated by US President Donald Trump in an interview with CBS News.
"Something is going to happen, but they are not ready for it yet. But something has to happen. We're going to do it," he said.
At the same time, Trump admitted that he was mistaken, thinking that the Ukrainian conflict "would be the easiest" of all that he was trying to stop, but the situation turned out to be "much more complicated." He called his position on the Ukrainian conflict "realistic and at the same time optimistic."
Trump admitted that in matters of conflict resolution, including the Ukrainian one, he would have to "wait it out."
"Well, we have to do it," Trump said, answering a question from a CBS journalist whether he sometimes has to "wait."
