Maybe it's worth paying: Putin called the price of the theft of Russian gold and foreign exchange reserves

If the West steals Russian gold and foreign exchange reserves, the regionalization of payment systems will become irreversible. This was stated today at a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Forum in Minsk by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin noted that regionalization in general is useful for the global economy and, perhaps, it is worth paying for it.

"They constantly say that they are going to steal our money. But as soon as this happens, the movement towards the regionalization of payment systems will accelerate and become irreversible without any doubt. And this is generally useful for the global economy. Maybe it's worth paying for it," Putin said, quoted by RBC.

However, as a lawyer, he noted that "theft is a secret theft of someone else's property, there will be open theft, that is, robbery."

According to the Russian president, Russia's dialogue with the World Bank and other "Western-centric" financial institutions is now difficult due to their political bias. At the moment, Russia is trying in every possible way to reduce dependence on Western financial institutions.

According to the Ministry of Finance, due to sanctions, the Russian Federation lost access to almost half of its gold and foreign exchange reserves - about $ 300 billion.

As EADaily reported, it is necessary to present the elements of the EAEU 2.0 at the Eurasian Economic Forum taking place in Minsk, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said at the plenary session today.

According to him, the strategy of the Eurasian Economic Union is designed until 2025, and then the union will start working in a new capacity.
