A video appeared on the web of a Russian fighter jet flying past an American ship and shooting off heat traps. NATO Baltops-25 exercises are coming to an end in the Baltic.
"The Baltic Sea, neutral waters, footage from a US Navy ship. The SU-24 of the Russian Aerospace Forces flew by and released heat traps. Ours protect the fleet, which provides oil supplies to foreign markets," writes the telegram channel "Two Majors", which posted the video.
Judging by the footage, we are talking about the headquarters ship Mount Whitney of the US 6th Fleet, which arrived in the Baltic Sea for the NATO Baltops-25 exercises.
Yesterday, the 6th Fleet of the US Navy reported on the social network X that fire-fighting exercises, as well as special forces training, took place on board the headquarters ship. The ship also visited Polish Gdansk.
The US military does not report anything about the incident. Obviously, that could have happened near the Kaliningrad region, next to which Gdansk is located, where the headquarters ship of the US Navy entered. It is not known to what extent the flight of the Russian fighter is connected with the escort of tankers.
It is known that earlier the Russian Aerospace Forces had already used overflights to disrupt an attempt by the Estonian Navy to detain a tanker transporting Russian oil in the Gulf of Finland. Finland also reported on the escort of tankers by Russian aviation.
