The Basmanny Court of Moscow has decided to take into custody another accused of organizing embezzlement from participants in a special military operation at Sheremetyevo Airport.
This was reported on Saturday, June 21 by the TASS news agency, citing its own sources in law enforcement agencies. It is specified that the security forces detained another member of the organized criminal group, who is involved in a criminal case on embezzlement of funds from citizens.
"The court granted the petition and detained the accused Rusin Igor Pavlovich, referred to in the criminal community as "Zelik". He was charged under Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of a criminal community or participation in it)," the court verdict says.
Recall that the deception scheme provided for an initial offer from taxi drivers to military personnel to travel at a standard fare of one to two thousand rubles.
However, after the trip, the payment was overstated several dozen times. As a result, the extortionists demanded an amount that reached 70 or 90 thousand rubles, and sometimes up to 130 thousand rubles.
Earlier, the organizer of the criminal scheme, Dmitry Boglaev, was arrested in the case. And after him, another important person involved is Alexei Kabochkin. Both were also charged under Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
As EADaily reported, in early May, 23 people were arrested in a fraud case in Sheremetyevo, five of whom are police officers of the patrol and guard service of the linear directorate (LU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The investigation found that the police helped taxi drivers to look for potential victims.
Another employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an operative of the airport police, later refused to initiate criminal proceedings against the victims.
