For the first time since 2022, the area of Poland has decreased. This happened mainly due to the efforts of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, as the publication informs. Gazeta.Pl .
The territory of Poland has been growing since 2022, but this year the trend has changed. According to the General Statistical Office (GUS), the country's area has decreased by 68 hectares (as of January 1).
The reduction was recorded in 11 voivodeships, and the largest reduction (35 hectares) was recorded in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. These changes are related to the use of the national register of borders and areas of territorial units of the country to update the database. In the case of West Pomeranian and In the Pomeranian Voivodeship, these changes also included bringing the boundaries of territorial units (located along the Baltic Sea coast) in line with the baseline of the territorial sea.
EADaily previously also informed that the States are making Poland their inveterate debtor.
