Kiev is negotiating with Russia for two reasons. This was stated by the Speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Georgy Tikhy.
Firstly, Ukraine participates in negotiations with the Russian Federation to solve humanitarian problems and return prisoners, he said.
"The second, no less important political and communication task is to prevent someone from accusing Ukraine of being a party that does not want peace. And there are quite a lot of such attempts in different circles, in different countries, even in allied countries," added Tikhy, quoted by RBC - Ukraine.
As EADaily reported, the date of the third round of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations in Istanbul will be known after the completion of the prisoner exchanges. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
"Now we are engaged in the implementation of those humanitarian agreements that were reached at the second round of direct Russian-Ukrainian talks in Istanbul. After all the procedures that have been agreed, the exchange, are completed, it will be the turn to decide on the dates of the third round," the Kremlin spokesman said, answering a question from TASS.
