A resident of Mordovia, an employee of one of the IT companies, who sent secret data on critical infrastructure facilities to the military intelligence of Ukraine, was detained on suspicion of treason. This was reported in the Center for Public Relations of the FSB of Russia.
"The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Mordovia stopped the illegal activities of a 39-year-old local resident suspected of committing treason," the FSB said.
It was established that, while working in one of the Russian IT companies, the detainee "proactively established contact with an employee of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine."
"On the instructions of the curator, the suspect obtained and transmitted data on the locations of critical infrastructure facilities in the region through the Telegram messenger for a monetary reward," the report says.
In addition, he also provided information about an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Mordovia in order to further organize a contract killing against him.
The investigative department of the FSB in the Republic of Mordovia initiated a criminal case under Article 275 of the Criminal Code Russia (high treason). The detainee was taken into custody. Investigative actions are being carried out aimed at collecting evidence confirming the involvement of the person involved in other episodes of criminal activity.
"All persons who have agreed to assist the enemy will be identified, brought to criminal responsibility and will be severely punished," the FSB warned.
