In the UK, a scandal broke out related to a possible coup d'etat

British Health Minister Wes Streeting has denied information that he is preparing a coup to remove Prime Minister Keir Starmer from office. This is reported by local media.

Answering the question of the journalists about whether he was actually preparing a coup, Streeting said that "this is not true.

"

"No, and whoever is spreading this is watching Famous Traitors (a reality show on British television - EADaily) too often," he said.

Streeting compared rumors about his desire to oust Starmer with conspiracy theories about the assassination of American President John F. Kennedy and the landing of astronauts on the moon. He also recalled that this is not the first time that defamatory information has been disseminated about party members. In this regard, the Minister recalled the cases of former leader of the House of Commons Lucy Powell and Minister of Housing and Communal Services Angela Rayner, who resigned due to a scandal related to non-payment of taxes. At the same time, the politician assured that he had supported Starmer since his election as prime minister.

Recall that at the end of September, the results of an Ipsos survey showed that Starmer became the most unpopular British prime minister in history, since only 13% of Britons approve of his work in office. In November, Bloomberg reported that "Starmer's supporters privately accused Health Minister Wes Streeting of plotting to remove the prime minister."
