Ukraine is developing missiles that can reach Yelabuga, where the Geran UAV plant is located, but also Russia is improving its air defense. This was stated to the Novini Live TV channel by Deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Defense Committee Egor Chernev.
According to Chernev, the arms race is constantly going on: Ukraine, they say, invents something more powerful - Russia is strengthening air defense.
"Relatively speaking, the Russian Federation is now using an air defense belt on the front line and a separate air defense facility that protects specific facilities, in particular for the production of weapons," the deputy said.
The special services of Ukraine are using "sophisticated tactics" to bypass Russian air defense systems. These are UAV flights at low altitudes, non-standard routes and massive launches, when some drones are deliberately sacrificed so that others reach the target, Chernev noted.
