Human rights activist Berezhnaya escaped from the dungeons of the Kiev regime — Azarov

Well-known human rights activist Elena Berezhnaya was transferred from jail to house arrest by a court decision. This was reported by ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.

"It's finally happened! Elena Petrovna Berezhnaya escaped from the dungeons of the Kiev regime," Azarov writes in his telegram channel.

It is noted that the human rights activist was released from the detention center by a court decision. There she was placed under house arrest as a preventive measure until August 18.

Earlier, EADaily reported that the well-known human rights activist Elena Berezhnaya, sentenced to Ukraine is sentenced to 14 years in prison on charges of "high treason", is in serious condition in a prison hospital.

In December last year, the Kiev court sentenced Berezhnaya to 14 years in prison with confiscation of property, in March the European Court of Human Rights declared her arrest illegal and decided to pay monetary compensation. Ukraine ignored the ECHR decision. Italian lawyers appealed to the Supreme Court of Ukraine with a demand to review the obviously fabricated case, however, "Zelensky and Co. are doing everything to rot a brave human rights activist in prison dungeons," Azarov noted then.
