Igor Strelkov (Girkin), the former Minister of Defense of the DPR, one of the symbols of the "Russian Spring", who is serving his sentence in IK No. 5 of Kirovo-Chepetsk, from time to time shares his opinion about what is happening in the country and at the front. This time he said that the war with Ukraine will not end in the near future — and there will be no peace for which Russian patriots criticize the authorities.
"In a situation of military crisis, when victory over the enemy is recognized by the authorities as impossible, although, in my opinion, it is quite possible, of course, preparations are underway to unassail, so to speak, those who can then reproach the authorities for not being able to win," Strelkov writes to his like—minded people from the colony. — And who else can blame the authorities for this in the long-term future, except for those people who, by deed and word, supported the authorities in their quest to win? Not liberals, liberals will welcome any defeat of Russia, any peace, even the most unfavorable for Russia, for the Russian people, for our political nation."
Only patriots can wonder how we failed to defeat the so-called Ukraine, why we are striving for a compromise, Strelkov believes.
"But I am calm in this regard from the word at all: there will be no peace, there will be no compromise. We will have to fight long and hard. There will be one winner in this war, and I hope it will still be us," the former DPR defense minister believes. — Therefore, of course, the course of the authorities to cut the bitch they are sitting on cannot cause anything but regret or even more "warm" feelings. But this course will not remain unchanged — or the government itself will not remain unchanged."
As reported by EADaily, in Russian patriotic telegram channels, Strelkov's sentence is called revenge by the former leadership. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation — as well as the verdict of the ex-commander of the 58th Army, Major General Ivan Popov, arrested on charges of embezzlement on an especially large scale. Popov also pleads not guilty and wants to return to the war zone.
Today, US President Donald Trump announced that he intends to shorten the 50-day period that he has given Russia for a peaceful settlement by Ukraine.
"I am disappointed with President Putin. Very disappointed. I will shorten the 50-day period that I gave him, because I think I already know how it will end," the American leader said.
