The statement by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrault about the readiness of the European Union to impose the "toughest sanctions" against Russia from 2022 looks overdue.
This opinion was expressed in his Telegram channel by Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky, who is currently in a Ukrainian prison for his "pro-Russian" views.
The disgraced Ukrainian politician was surprised that Brussels had delayed so long with the "punishment" of Moscow. He suspected Europe of wanting to prolong the armed conflict for as long as possible Ukraine:
"And what was not introduced in 2022? Did you feel sorry for Russia? Or was it so profitable for the war to continue?"
As reported by EADaily, the French minister promised that the next package of restrictions is designed to "deplete" Russia's resources and prevent it from conducting a military operation. It will affect oil revenues, "financial players" from Russia and other countries.
