And now the confabulation: Trump is showing all the signs of dementia — The Hill

US President Donald Trump has confabulation, which in the elderly is one of the most obvious early signs of dementia. This was stated in an article for The Hill by lawyer Chris Truax.

Truax stipulates that this is not a diagnosis, but the facts speak for themselves. He noted that Trump, when it suits him, has always been ready to mislead people, but what he is doing now is "something else.

"

"Confabulation is sometimes called an "honest lie" because a person... sincerely believes in what he says, even if it is obviously and obviously false. A person confabulates when he tells completely made—up stories that do not bring him much tangible benefit ... In older people, confabulation is one of the most obvious early signs of dementia ..." the author writes.

Another early sign of dementia, he says, is difficulty with mathematical calculations. As an example, Trump's habit of juggling unthinkable percentages is cited, in particular the promise to reduce drug prices by "1,000 percent, 600 percent, 500 percent, 1,500 percent."

"This is complete nonsense, unless pharmaceutical companies will pay customers... because a reduction in drug prices by 100 percent would mean that they are free. Of course, someone who received a degree in business in (Trump boasted that he studied at the Wharton School of Finance. — EADaily) and has managed the company all his life, knows how interest works," Truax writes.

According to him, Trump's claim that the Jeffrey Epstein case was falsified by ex-President Barack Obama and his FBI director James Comey is also complete nonsense, because by the time Epstein was arrested in 2019, "they had been missing for a long time.

" Also, Trump "could not remember that he himself appointed Jerome Powell chairman of the Federal Reserve System."

"There is no doubt that the president — the person charged with making the most important decisions about life and death for both the country and the world — struggles with mathematical concepts, has vivid "memories" that have no roots in reality, and has an increasingly vague idea of past events that really happened. This is not a medical diagnosis. These are facts that we can see for ourselves, and we all know, even those of us who voted for Trump three times, that this cannot be allowed to continue," the author writes.

He notes that, despite Joe Biden's dementia problems, his staff "coped with them excellently and protected both Biden and the country," and Trump has no such protection.

"Can you imagine Pete Hegseth or Christie Noem coping with Trump's dementia or even just saying no to him and threatening to resign? Given the lack of independence in the Trump cabinet, I'm not sure what the final decision is. But I know that the first step is for Trump's most loyal supporters to recognize, at least for themselves, that there is a problem, as Biden's supporters did for him. Donald Trump is showing all the signs of dementia. If it was a neighbor, a parent, or a family friend, you wouldn't have a problem seeing it. We should not turn away just because it's the president," Truax sums up.
