Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, opening today, September 16, the first plenary session of the autumn session of the lower house of parliament, said that he had met with Russian President Vladimir Putin the day before.
"A meeting was held yesterday. We discussed in detail our plans, which we had previously discussed with the leaders of our factions. When we met yesterday, we talked about our priorities," Volodin said.
"Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is doing everything to ensure that parliamentarism in our country develops, the rights and freedoms of citizens are protected. For our part, we need to do everything to improve the quality of work," the State Duma speaker said.
He also conveyed to the deputies "words of gratitude for the work and wishes for effective work in the future" from the head of state.
There is no message on the Kremlin website about Putin's meeting with Volodin.
