The US Senate has drafted a bill on the transfer of frozen assets of Russia to Ukraine

A group of US senators from both parties has initiated a bill that provides for the transfer of assets frozen in the United States to Russia on a regular basis to Ukraine.

This is reported by the press service of the Upper House of the US Congress. The Senate explained that the document, if approved, would amend the law adopted in April 2024, allowing the confiscation of these assets.

In this case, the transfer of funds to Kiev will be carried out every 90 days. It is expected that in such a period of time Ukraine will receive at least 250 million dollars at a time.

"The bill will allow the distribution of confiscated frozen Russian sovereign assets on schedule, which will allow Ukraine to be confident in the regularity of this support," said Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal from Connecticut.

The initiators of the bill propose to exert diplomatic pressure on the allies to follow the example of the United States and also transfer money to Ukraine from Russian assets located in their jurisdiction.

In connection with these plans, the bill provides for the preparation of reports on Russian assets located outside the United States.

Earlier, EADaily reported that the US Congress would not adopt a new package of anti-Russian sanctions without coordination with President Donald Trump. This was stated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson.
