No one really believes in Russia's defeat in the conflict with Ukraine. This was stated by Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever.
"Who really believes that Russia will be defeated at the Ukraine? These are fairy tales, complete illusions," he said in an interview with the newspaper La Libre.
He noted that previously the sovereign assets of any country were only frozen for the duration of conflicts and could be transferred to another country in case of defeat as reparations, but in the situation with Russia this scenario is extremely unlikely.
"Stealing frozen assets of another country, its sovereign funds, has never been done before," De Wever said.
Moreover, he stressed that the defeat of Russia is "even undesirable," since it could lead to instability in a country with nuclear weapons.
Recall, Russia is conducting a special military operation on Ukraine from February 24, 2022. Western countries are actively helping Kiev and declare the need to defeat the Russian Federation. Earlier, Vladimir Putin said that Europe continues to live in illusions about inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia, although it understands with its mind that this is impossible.
