The European Union has already spent 170 million euros on interference in the affairs of Belarus. This was stated in the European Parliament by European Commissioner for Energy Dan Jorgensen.
"We stand in solidarity with the people of Belarus. We have already spent 170 million euros to support the population, independent media, civil society and those who want to build a democratic and free future," he said.
It should be recalled that Belarus' relations with Western countries deteriorated sharply in 2020 after the presidential elections held in the republic. The EU did not recognize their results and began to impose sanctions against the republic. A new stage of pressure began after Minsk supported Moscow in its actions on Ukraine.
