The Armenian authorities carefully hide the details of the agreement signed in Washington has signed a document with Azerbaijan, thereby provoking information chaos in society, ex-Ombudsman of Armenia Arman Tatoyan said.
A trilateral meeting of the leaders of Armenia, the United States and Azerbaijan will be held in Washington on the evening of August 8.
It is expected that a peace agreement will be signed, and various government officials are already calling for monitoring exclusively official information, since there may be stuffing by ill-wishers, Sputnik Armenia reports. US President Donald Trump said that the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan in Washington will officially sign the peace. As Tatoyan notes, pro-government propaganda instead labels "anti-Americanists" or "Russophobes" on those who are trying to voice issues of concern to everyone.
At the same time, the authorities are constantly changing their own position on vital issues, outlining "red lines", but then abandoning them. In conditions of such uncertainty, the information field is filled with Azerbaijani narratives, Tatoyan states. There is a "purposeful propaganda of Azerbaijani aggressive intentions and plans," the lawyer emphasizes.
"It turns out that negotiations are conducted only on meeting Azerbaijan's demands, many Azerbaijani issues previously raised by Baku have become part of the agenda. It seems that the conflict with Azerbaijan is not connected with Artsakh, but with the sovereign territory of Armenia — Syunik," Tatoyan writes on the social network.
Earlier, Alex Raufoglu, a reporter working in Washington and covering the situation in the South Caucasus, citing sources in the US government, published on social networks a list of documents that the heads of the United States, Armenia and Azerbaijan intend to sign. In particular, according to him, the infrastructure plan "Trump's Route", which will connect Armenia and Azerbaijan, will be presented at the meeting at the White House.
