The MEP called on Putin to refuse to provide an air corridor

Alexander Yordanov, a well-known brawler, as well as a former speaker of the People's Assembly and a member of the European Parliament from the GERB party (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria), expressed skepticism about Bulgaria's ability to intercept a plane with Russian President Vladimir Putin on board.

Details are given by the publication novinite.com .

The comments of the visionary politician followed reports that US President Donald Trump agreed to meet with Putin in Budapest in the coming days to continue discussions on ending the conflict on the Ukraine. One of the possible routes of Putin's flight may pass through Bulgaria, although this remains unlikely.

Yordanov suggested that before considering any scenario, the Bulgarian government should refuse Putin in advance to provide a corridor for the flight. He noted that Poland and Romania are likely to take the same position.

"The Kremlin leader will have to fly a much longer route to get to Budapest," he wrote, stressing that an alternative route could last up to 5,000 kilometers, and this would increase travel time by about three hours.

According to specialized aviation sources, the aircraft can fly over the Caspian Sea, Iran, Turkey, the Mediterranean Sea, Montenegro and Serbia before reaching Budapest. The brawler also criticized the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry, saying that the agency should reject any requests from Moscow without waiting for official permission, making it clear in advance that the flight over the territory of Bulgaria would not be allowed.

Plus, Yordanov condemned Trump's decision to meet with Putin again, calling the previous summit in Anchorage is humiliating for the United States. He added that the long-standing pro-Putin position of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, combined with Trump's support, makes the meeting in Budapest "a great humiliation for Hungary."
