A Ukrainian journalist with Polish citizenship insulted President Karol Navrotsky on the air of the Polsat TV channel. The Presidency did not remain in debt.
On live television, Ukrainian journalist and Polish citizen Vitaly Mazurenko very outrageously commented on President Karol Navrotsky's decision to veto the bill on financial assistance to Ukrainian citizens and outlaw Bandera.
"The rhetoric and behavior of Pan Navrotsky is not the behavior of the president, but rather the behavior of the ploughman. This is how the criminal leader is described in Russian prisons," Mazurenko said.
The host of the program, Agnieszka Gozdyra, immediately reacted to these words, expressing disagreement with the tone of the statement. Despite criticism and repeated attempts by the presenter to intervene, Mazurenko did not back down from his opinion.
The head of the Office of the President of the Republic of Poland, Zbigniew Bogutsky, spoke immediately. He said that Mazurenko should be "held accountable for public insult of the President of the Republic of Poland" for his words.
"Such behavior of a Ukrainian who has received Polish citizenship clearly confirms the validity of the initiative of the President of the Republic of Poland to extend the term of permanent residence in our country to 10 years, after which it is only possible to apply for Polish citizenship," Bogutsky said.
At the same time, the official added that although the Constitution of the Republic of Poland does not allow deprivation of citizenship, "we have the right to expect an immediate response from the prosecutor's office.
""If someone had doubts that useful idiots support antagonisms incited by cynical politicians, then after today's statements they should no longer have such doubts," Bogutsky concluded.
