Zakharova announced a "tangible" response to the closure of the Consulate General of Russia in Krakow

Moscow is working on retaliatory measures to adjust the Polish consular presence in the Russian Federation after the termination of work at the initiative of the Polish authorities of the Consulate General of Russia in Krakow. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"In connection with the hostile actions of the Polish side, the Consulate General of Russia in this city [in Krakow] has ceased functioning since June 27 of this year. Warsaw continues to take steps aimed at the consistent dismantling of bilateral relations for the sake of the momentary political conjuncture. The consequences of this Russophobic line will be very tangible for its initiators, as we have said about it. Currently, retaliatory measures are being worked out to adjust the Polish presence, meaning the consular presence in our country," the diplomat noted.

She clarified that consular services for Russians in Poland will be provided by the Russian Embassy in Warsaw and the Russian Consulate General in Gdansk.

"Russian citizens can also apply to any other Russian embassy or consular institution abroad to receive consular services. Issuance of ready-made documents, applications for registration of which were submitted to the Consulate General of Russia in In Krakow, these are passports, this is the demand for documents carried out by the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Poland, that is, in Warsaw," Zakharova added, quoted by TASS.
